The collapse of incomes of Russians has reached 20%
Ongoing from October 2014, the collapse in living standards in Russia has made the population poorer by almost 20%. To such conclusion experts of the Higher school of Economics in July "Monitoring". Real disposable incomes (i.e. the sum that remains on the hands after all obligatory payments, adjusted for inflation) are in a free fall of almost 31 months in a row, says HSE is only once, Rosstat recorded growth of this indicator in January 2017. It is, however, fully secured one-time payment of 5 thousand pensioners.
The annual amount of the revenues of 144 million Russian citizens is about 50 trillion rubles (estimate Ranepa). Thus, in monetary terms, the population of slightly more than 2.5 years have lost an amount equal to 9.6 trillion rubles, or 11% of the annual GDP of the country.
The decline in revenue continues despite the statistics, which reports on economic growth and increase of industrial production volumes, says the HSE. In early 2017, the Russian economy, the government has accelerated the most in 5 years: in some months the growth has exceeded 3%. Despite this, the population of Russia for six months, impoverished by another 1.4%.
In nominal terms revenues even rise, but inflation burns money faster than they do: during the crisis, food prices increased on average by 28.7%, nonfood goods - by 26.2%.
As a result, almost three quarters (72%) of Russians moved to the economy mode, results from the HSE data was conducted in may survey. "Belt-tightening" brought retail trade: food people waste is 19.6% less than 2014, and the costs of nepravitelstvennykh goods had to be cut by 19.2%.
37% of Russians switched to cheaper food, 32% have been forced to abandon certain products in principle.
Average monthly salary in the country is estimated by Rosstat in 40 thousand rubles, but in fact, most get significantly less: totals distort the data through the narrow gap with high incomes. So, 55% of the population pay no more than 25 thousand rubles, one in three - it is less than 15 thousand, and about 5 million people earn only the minimum wage, amounting to 7.5 thousand rubles.
In a result, more than a third (38%) complain about lack of money even for bare necessities, says HSE: 9% of respondents who participated in the study said that they do not have enough food, 28% are unable to buy their own clothes.
This group is poor by the subjective possibilities during the crisis has increased in 1.3 times. The share of such Russians of almost falling: to the peak 2016, it decreased by only 3 percentage points.
Things are worst in rural areas, where 44% of the population says about lack of money for food and clothing. Among pensioners such, and not the majority - 54%. In addition, one in four retired reported lack of money for medicine.
Suffer and families with children: in this group 9% are unable to buy food, and 41% clothes, every second such family (more than two children) faced difficulties in making payments on utilities, and loans.
The situation is aggravated by the lingering crisis in the labour market, which is behind the record low unemployment rate.
According to the HSE, one in five households faced a decline in wages, 21% - with its delays. In every tenth family with at least one person lost his job. 6% of families reported that they were transferred to a leave of absence or shorter working week.
The hope of help from the state the population found in the HSE: to support the authorities in the event of a crisis I expect only 4% of respondents. 28% expect help from relatives and friends.
The majority - 42% - believe that to apply them in principle.
