Capital outflow from Russia

 Capital outflow from Russia exceeded $ 150 billion
Moscow. January 17. INTERFAX.RU - Net capital outflow by banks and enterprises of the Russian Federation in 2014, according to the Central Bank of Russia amounted to $ 151.5 billion. This was reported by the press service of the Bank of Russia.

According to the results of last year, the outflow of capital was in 2.5 times more than in 2013 ($ 61 billion). In the 4th quarter of 2014, net capital exports increased by 9.4 times (up to $ 72.9 billion) compared with the 3rd quarter ($ 7.7 billion). In Q2 net capital outflow amounted to $ 22.4 billion in Q1 - $ 48.2 billion.
The Bank of Russia for the first time in the 4th quarter of 2014 to use the mechanism of monetary liquidity to banks on a return basis. Thus, the $ 19.8 billion of capital flight are temporary.


An important factor in increasing net outflow of capital from the private sector in 2014, along with increased foreign assets became payments on external debt of companies and banks in the face of shrinking opportunities to refinance debt because of sanctions. In 2015, a reduction in foreign debt payments, which should positively affect the performance of capital outflows.
